Cyber Security for Journalists

JUNE 24, 2017

2:30 PM - 4:30 PM

LANGUAGE: ITALIAN

Palazzo del Turismo, Riccione

The daily use of several digital devices exposes us to hacking attacks, in a remarkably increasing way. Using smartphones, tablets and computers can be dangerous, but digital risks are intrinsically immaterial and difficult to understand. After having explained them, the workshop will analyze the most common hacking attacks to activists and journalists and the best ways to get protected from harmful intrusions. The goal is to learn how to create a ‘threat model’, recognizing what we want to protect, identifying potential attacks and defining our defence tools. In particular, journalists will be shown which are the best practices in using digital devices at work.
