Almost forty years later, the case of the kidnapping and killing of Aldo Moro has been re-opened, causing great sensation. The Italian Parliament’s Commission of inquiry chaired by deputy Giuseppe Fioroni stated there are still evidences to investigate, disclosing four decades of false leads; and the Commission’s report was unanimously approved by the Parliament, for the first time in the Italian Republic history. This cold case investigation established the crime scene was intentionally altered, and it probably discovered the first place where Moro was detained. It also proved the memoirs by the Red Brigades militant Valerio Morucci, a key testimony, were unreliable and mostly made up on partial truths and agreed-upon lies. The workshop will show the new lines of inquiry, which make all the more likely — and verifiable — a connivance among Red Brigades, organized crime and secret services from several countries. History has a memory; journalists must help history remember.
