Dada-press. Letterpress con contaminazioni dadaiste
The DIG Festival welcomes 25-30 children in the Dada-press newsroom. Tables, chairs, stationary and typography materials await the youngest attendees of the event for an entertaining project whose target is to introduce children not only to journalism, but also to the reading and understanding of the news. Thanks to the partnership with Il Resto del Carlino, the kids will be given the opportunity to create their own newspaper and to depict a world in which imagination and nonsense have the “right to have rights”. The creation of the news will be random, with the kids choosing from three different envelopes, each of them containing subjects, verbs and nouns, all related to real events. A copy of Il Resto del Carlino will be given to each kid to fill in, using the four blank pages marked with the newspaper logo: taking on the role of a true editor-in-chief, they will make a selection of which content they would like to see “published”, between Dadaist news, pictures and words cut out from magazines and newspapers. At the end of the project, Celestina Pistapoce’s typobike, a real typography on wheels, will make it possible for the kids to print two of the best newspaper headlines.
